This is an essential oil massage technique based on Lakota Native healings. Raindrop Therapy is the application of powerful antibacterial, antiviral oils along the spine.
Raindrop Technique was developed by D.Gary Young, founder of Young Living Essential Oils, based on techniques taught to him by a Lakota medicine man named Wallace Black Elk. In Lakota Native American healing practices, healers sweep a feather upwards along the spine in imitation of the Northern Lights, which are revered for their healing energy.
Raindrop Therapy is based on the theory that many types of scoliosis and spinal misalignment are caused by viruses or bacteria that lie dormant along the spine. These pathogens create inflammation, which in turn, contorts and disfigures the spinal column resulting in weaken body systems. Raindrop therapy enables you to restore balance and normal function to weak body systems, and promotes harmony of the whole person: physically, mentally and emotionally.
A person receiving raindrop lays face down as oils are dropped on their back from a height of 6 inches. The oils are gently massaged in with the Lakota feathering motion. After the essential oils have been applied, a warm towel is applied to the back to drive the oils further into the body.
Just like the blood gives our body life, essential oils are the life of plants. They can have healing effects on the body, especially the ones that are specifically chosen for this technique. When applied to the body, the oils are absorbed into the skin and travel down through the dermis levels into the interstitial fluids. They are helpful in fighting bacteria and viruses that travel through the body. Essential oils also stimulate the nerves and the re-growth of tissue. Essential oils have also been known to improve the immune system.
The Raindrop Technique, uses high quality, pure, organic, therapeutic-grade essential oils which are dispensed like little drops of rain from a height of about six inches above the back, mixed with a variety of very lightly massage techniques along the vertebrae and back muscles, Vita Flex massage and a warm compress application. Vitaflex, a foot reflexology technique, is used to apply the same oils to the spine reflexology points. 9 essential oils are used in raindrop: 7 single oils and 2 therapeutic blends. The technique is designed to bring the body back into structural and electrical alignment. Often many types of spinal problems and misalignment are caused by toxins that lie dormant within the spine. The use of therapeutic-grade essential oils helps to dispose of these viruses within the spine, helping its structure return to normal.
