Renee has always had a connection to the healing touch. When she was 14 years old, she was already relieving people she knew from headaches and tension.
In 1998, she began a new career path and enrolled into the massage therapy training at Mount Royal College completed her education of Massage Therapy 2200 hours. During the 3 and a half years she was studying, she continued to work in the oil and gas industry in Calgary, Alberta as a Journeyman Parts - person.
Her treatment experience in massage therapy includes Relaxation, Therapeutic, Pregnancy, Child and Sports massage. She has also worked used her techniques, and experience in working with clients who have a variety of health conditions, such as Parkinson's, Multiple Systems Atrophy, Fibromyalgia, Multiple Sclerosis.
In 2001, she started a private practice on a part-time basis while working full-time. In 2007, she made a decision in her professional career, and left the oil and gas industry to focus on her massage therapy practice full-time... She has not looked back since, and loves the choice she made to follow her passion.
Passions of life...
Speaking of passions .... Renee has a few! She is a heavy metal music enthusiast as well as all music in general, listening to all genres of music. In her spare time she also enjoys heavy weight lifting, biking and walking. Traveling is a very big passion, with her partner in life... and follows the tunes on some of her travels.
As a Manual Therapist in the province of Alberta,, Tara is a member in good standing with the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada and practices and teaches Massage Therapy in Alberta only.
As a Manual Osteopathy Practitioner (DOMP), Tara is a member of the Ontario Osteopathic and Alternative Medicine Association, and National Association of Research and Development for Manual Osteopathy and sits on other professional boards.
Her treatment and therapies include Manual Osteopathy (NARDMO/ OOAMA), Advanced Orthopedic Massage (in Alberta only), Therapeutic Massage (in Alberta only), Advanced Body Sugaring as well as Hot & Cold Stone Massage, Pre/Postnatal Massage, Thai Hot Stem Massage and RainDrop Therapy.
Working with clients and helping them to feel well and return to pre injury abilities is a main focus of her practice and she has especially enjoyed working with Pre / Postnatal mom's and their infants teaching Infant Massage in her practice. Her work experience in the field of manual therapy has ranged from treatment in chiropractic and physiotherapy clinics to a private practice, specializing in Manual Osteopathy assessment and treatments and Advanced Orthopedic Massage Therapy (in Alberta only) for patients of all ages.
Education, Training and Coaching
With a background in Business, which includes a focus on human resources, health and safety, eduction & training , and curriculum development, she has always been focused on helping individuals to grow and continue their learning in life.. She began teaching as a young adult, working as a swimming instructor providing Red Cross lessons to children and young adults.
In the field of Manual Therapy and Corporate consulting, Tara has lead health and business workshops, health / wellness training seminars and currently provides business and marketing consulting to a number of organizations as part of her practice.
Our team of DOMP, DO(MP)s, are non medical and are not registrants of any provincial College of Physicians and Surgeons in Canada. They are members of various other manual osteopathy associations across the country.
Our team does not practice massage therapy in the Province of British Columbia, and are not registrants of the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia.
